Aladdin is popular for having a genie that grants his wishes. Well, Aladdin is not the only fortunate guy around. Fairly OddParents features a little boy who has two fairies that grant his wishes- well, most of them.
Fairly OddParents was made by Butch Hartman. It was originally shown on "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" as cartoon segments that first aired on the 4th of September on 1998 and lasted until the 23rd of March on 2001. From its sixth season up to now, it is being produced by Billionfold Studios and Frederator Studios as an animated TV series for Nickelodeon.
The story of Fairly OddParents revolves around Timmy Turner (whose whole name is Timothy Tiberius "Timmy" Vladislavpov Turner), his fairy godparents named Cosmo (a green-haired guy fairy) and Wanda (a pink-haired lady fairy), and their daily adventures and misadventures.

In the story of Fairly OddParents, Timmy got his fairy godparents because he is being neglected by his parents. He is a smart boy but his parents are rarely with him and they do not really care about the things he is up to. He was given fairy godparents to make up for the lack of time and irresponsibility of his real parents.
However, Timmy often selfishly wishes for things that will give him super powers and things that will make his life a lot easier. And because of his up-front and inappropriate wishes, he often gets into trouble and ends up having to "unwish" his wish.

Despite the awesome privilege of having fairy godparents that can grant his every wish, there are rules that have to be followed on what Timmy can and cannot wish for and how his fairy godparents should behave. These rules are written in a large book called "Da Rules".

The rules include that a child will lose his fairies if someone finds out that he or she has one. This is a serious problem for Timmy because his teacher, Mr. Crocker, truly believes that there are fairy godparents and he suspects that Timmy has one. Nonetheless, Cosmo and Wanda often disguise as animals when they are with Timmy to avoid suspicion. They disguise as fishes living in the fish bowl in Timmy's room and as other animals when they have to walk around with him.
It was revealed that Cosmo and Wanda have formerly been assigned as fairy godparents of Bill Gates and Tina Turner. They are also responsible for some historical catastrophes such as the sinking of the Atlantis and the extinction of dinosaurs. They have one child named by Timmy as Poof.
Cosmo used to be the youngest fairy until the birth of Poof. Cosmo and Wanda also used to be a doting and caring couple in the first seasons of Fairly OddParents but they changed into an insensitive male and a nagging female in the latter seasons.
Because of the popularity of Fairly OddParents among children, many Fairly OddParents games have been released.
